Email Campaign Manager

Alliance Defending Freedom is looking for a highly professional Email Campaign Manager to join us in our Scottsdale, AZ, Lansdowne, VA or Washington, DC office. As the Email Campaign Manager, you are a vital part of the Marketing Communications team. In this role, you will report to the Director of Digital Content and play a critical role in creating and executing fundraising and marketing email strategies and campaigns. Your main duties include developing email marketing automation utilizing various email service providers (ESPs) and will work with various stakeholders to craft journeys delivering the right message to our audiences at the right moment, thereby improving audience engagement, retention, and revenue. You will develop concepts and execute lead nurturing campaigns that convert leads into new donors. You will be responsible for sharing relevant data, and analysis of email campaign performance. 

Your Essential Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:

• Create and execute marketing automation and email communication strategy
• Identify, test, and implement new strategies to improve open, click-through, and conversion rates
• Use scoring and grading to help identify relevant leads for our teams
• Build responsive, personalized customer journeys
• Create, format, proof, and test emails to support our marketing automation and general communication strategy
• Work alongside creative and writing resources to develop content
• Expand and manage website entry points, allowing for dynamic and progressive data sourcing
• Understand, customize, and optimize the entire campaign management and automation process, including new campaign requirements, development tests, production execution, and quality control
• Work with other internal audience owners to gain expertise and understanding of the audience that allows you to craft the optimal automated journeys for growth
• Develop standardized processes and programs that allow marketing team members to self-serve in the creation of complex, multi-stage automated marketing programs for every priority audience identified by senior leadership year over year
• Standardize naming conventions for scalability
• Maintain overall email file health by building re-engagement strategies, file purges, and email verification
• Monitor and minimize unsubscribe/bounce/complaint rates and ensure spam regulation compliance (e.g. CAN-SPAM)
• Report weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually on campaign performance and established KPIs
• Analyze data and provide actionable recommendations to deliver continuous improvements to email campaigns

Skills you need to succeed:

Knowledge of:

• Pardot ESP and Pardot Specialist Certification highly preferred
• Hubspot experience a plus
• Salesforce CRM
• General HTML

Demonstrated proficiency in:

• Microsoft Office Suite
• Detail-oriented work
• Project management

Ability to:

• Be a self-starter
• Troubleshoot problems and create solutions
• Handle multiple tasks at one time
• Work within a team environment as well as independently
• Think strategically, execute quickly, and drive multiple objectives simultaneously with strong attention to detail

Education and/or experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of email marketing experience
• Nonprofit experience preferred
