Location: Hamilton OHThe MTO Manager coordinates and oversees the Machine Tool Operations (MTO) and Central Parts organization supporting the manufacturing network. This position focuses on driving operational improvements through data driven activities, root cause analysis, and the use of Lean principles. Actively manages multiple teams of technical resources, focused on the repair and qualification of plastic extrusion tooling and equipment used in the processing of plastic pipe. He/She is accountable to ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner and that the team is using a continuous improvement mindset to improve the quality of their work. This position has comprehensive knowledge of company's manufacturing equipment, manufacturing processes, and understands the needs of the business to make the right technical solutions.
- Manage the MTO teams ensuring that all work is assigned, tracked, and completed within the assigned timeframe - Provide a safe work environment for the MTO teams and ensure all team members are working in a safe manner - Drives the use of systematic root cause analysis (RCA) problem solving addressing extrusion mold and die performance and reliability - Ensures all tooling and equipment repair and testing activities are maintained within the Maintenance Connection CMMS - Aids the plant teams with equipment repairs and costing needs - Implement a continuous improvement culture by embracing Lean techniques that drive MTOs key performance metrics- 3+ Years of management experience (Ideally Machine or Tooling Shop)
- Experience working with Plastic Extrusion and/or Plastic Injection Molding machines
- Strong mechanical repair knowledge and aptitude someone with a hands-on approach
- Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, blueprint/equipment drawing comprehension, and the ability to navigate through electronic AutoCAD drawings (2D & 3D)
- Tooling and Equipment repair experience
- Understanding of Lean concepts/principles
- Root cause analysis and plastic processing troubleshooting
