General Summary of Position:
The Director of Student Rights & Responsibilities provides leadership, vision, and strategic planning for the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities. The Director is a thought leader on campus concerning the rights and responsibilities of students, and ensures that student behavior related policies, procedures and processes are informed by current legislation, case law and federal guidelines. In addition, the Director is responsible for monitoring and maintaining a fair, civil, and educational student conduct process. The Director will serve as an investigator for high level student conduct cases Title IX student-on-student cases, and is also appointed as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator. Education and personal development is the foundation from which the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities carries out its mission of caring for students, treating students equitably, and making ethical decisions.
The Director of Student Rights & Responsibilities is a member of the Dean of Student Affairs and Experiential Learning’s leadership team. They will work collaboratively with offices, departments, and the colleges across the university. Beyond leadership of the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities, the Director, along with the other Directors and Deans provides collaborative and seamless leadership of the Division of Academic and Student Affairs.
The Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities oversees all aspects of the student conduct code and the student conduct process. Additionally, the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities coordinates Clery Act compliance efforts for the Division of Academic and Student Affairs.
