Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Special Projects Coordinator's responsibilities include assisting in the identification and planning, and facilitation of the implementation of projects of strategic significance, namely servicing as the principal project manager for LANTA's Enhanced Bus Service (EBS) Program. The Special Projects Manager will work with the Executive Director and all LANTA department heads to facilitate and ensure the ongoing progression of assigned projects. The Special Projects Coordinator reports to the Senior Director, Service Support & Planning.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The duties of the Special Projects Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Enhanced Bus Service (EBS) Project Manager:
- Project Liaison between LANTA and key project stakeholders.
- Coordination of key meeting dates, deadlines, and grant management
- Project milestone tracking and reporting.
- NEPA Environmental scoping management and project sustainability goal management.
- Develop and maintain LANTA Sustainability program with a focus on sustainable growth and development practices. Assessment of sustainable practice needs across departments.
- Work with Senior Director, Service Support & Planning to prepare annual Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) capital grant applications.
- Work with Senior Director, Service Support & Planning to prepare LANTA's annual Capital Program of Projects (POP).
- Work with Senior Director, Service Support & Planning to prepare biennial Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP).
- Work with applicable staff to develop and implement programs to ensure that data tools along with management practices are aligned with strategic goals such as continuous improvement of service reliability.
- Prepare, or assist in the preparation of competitive grant applications designed to further LANTA's strategic goals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Senior Director, Service Support & Planning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Project Management Experience.
- High skill level in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong aptitude with computer use.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong team facilitation skills.
- Strong grant-writing skills.
- Five years of experience in related duties.
- This position may require fieldwork and work at offsite locations.
