Job description

At The Print Shop we focus on community and relationships. As a Bartender you will be a key member of our team, responsible for crafting and serving a wide range of beverages to our guests. Your creativity, knowledge of mixology, and exceptional customer service skills will contribute to a lively and enjoyable atmosphere for our patrons. The role requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly and engaging demeanor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Beverage Preparation:

- Create a variety of cocktails, mocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages with precision and artistry.

- Be able to produce a wide variety of Call Drinks without the need of a recipe card.

- Ensure consistent quality and presentation of drinks, adhering to established recipes and standards.

- Garnish drinks creatively to enhance visual appeal.

2. Guest Interaction:

- Greet guests at the bar with a warm and welcoming attitude.

- Engage in friendly conversation and offer recommendations based on guest preferences.

- Provide information about beverage options and answer questions about ingredients.

3. Order Management:

- Take drink orders from servers and guests directly at the bar.

- Input orders accurately into the point-of-sale system.

- Prioritize and manage multiple drink orders simultaneously, maintaining efficiency and speed.

4. Knowledge and Expertise:

- Possess a deep understanding of the beverage menu, including ingredients, flavor profiles, and pairings.

- Stay updated on current beverage trends and new products in the industry.

- Provide guests with information about the history and origin of certain beverages if requested.

5. Responsible Alcohol Service:

- Verify the legal drinking age of guests before serving alcoholic beverages.

- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and identify signs of intoxication.

- Refuse service when necessary and handle difficult situations diplomatically.

6. Cleanliness and Organization:

- Keep the bar area clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.

- Regularly clean and sanitize glassware, utensils, and bar equipment.

- Restock and prep ingredients, garnishes, and beverages as needed.

7. Upselling and Salesmanship:

- Suggest premium or specialty drinks to guests to enhance their experience.

- Encourage guests to try specialty and seasonal beverages.

8. Cash Handling and Transactions:

- Handle cash, credit card, and digital payment transactions accurately.

- Maintain an organized and balanced cash register.

9. Team Collaboration:

- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.

- Communicate effectively with colleagues to manage guest expectations.

Qualifications:

- 2+ Years previous bartending experience is preferred.

- Valid ABC Permit

- Extensive knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and mixology techniques.

- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment.

- Attention to detail in crafting drinks and maintaining a clean workspace.

- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays up stairs for extended periods.

- Ability to carry 50 lbs up and down stairs.

- Knowledge of food and beverage menus.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Able to work weekends and holidays.

- Team player with a positive attitude.
