SUMMIT AVIATION, INC.
POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATION

POSITION TITLE:  UH60 Mechanic  DATE:  February 2024
FLSA STATUS:  Non-Exempt  DEPT:  Government
LOC:  Delaware
POSITION SUMMARY:  The UH60 General Mechanic reports to the Induction Team Lead and is responsible for supporting the UH60 program as required; operates in compliance with company safety practices and performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Receives the aircraft to include defueling and preservation.
Troubleshoot & repairUH60 Aircraft and sub-systems.
Perform periodic and daily inspections.
Dismantle and disassemble the aircraft in accordance with MES instructions.
Clean and tag the removed components.
Process said components to logistics for disposition
Will rotate around in the department as assigned.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum  3 - 5 Yrs Experience in Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance Experience; MES and/or customer provided system expert; Proficient knowledge of Technical  Publications; Proficient in Corridor & Work Order Mgmt; Working knowledge of QMS & Ground Op's, 8210.1; Trains & Mentors; Good Customer Relations Skills; Working Knowledge of MS Office Software; Proficient in the operations of Aviation Ground Support Equipment; Ability to perform basic helicopter systems & troubleshooting; knowledgeable of Log Book Processes & Historical Records Maintenance
Proficient with fluid sampling processes.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should have the ability to interact with and enter data into spreadsheet software.

Other Skills and Abilities:  Ability to work effectively and contribute in a team environment and self-direct work.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to sit; walk, talk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop or crouch.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to travel occasionally. Must be able to travel occasionally.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions such as extreme cold and heat, work near moving mechanical parts and vibration and work in high, precarious places.  Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and work with explosives.  The noise level in the work environment falls within acceptable limits of OSHA guidelines.
