$39.62 - $59.44 an hour - Per Diem, Days. Various hours/week.

**Range includes per diem differential. +$2.50/hr for evening and weekend shifts.


Boulder Community health is seeking a Cytotechnologist that performs microscopic examination in a labratory and diagnosis of benign conditions and abnormalities in cell samples from various body sites.

QUALIFICATIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Under the general direction of a pathologist, determines final microscopic diagnosis on gynecologic cell samples which are within normal limits and gives the preliminary microscopic diagnosis on abnormal gynecologic and all nongynecologic cell samples.
  2. Maintains current reporting terminology for cytologic diagnoses.
  3. Documents information on HR and 10%QC rescreen specimens on QC log sheet and submits with the worksheets to senior cytotechnologists.
  4. Reviews QC specimens returned by senior cytotechnologist and submits comments within 24 hours.
  5. Process specimens using ThinPrep techniques and provide on-site assessment of adequacy for Non-Gyn fine needle aspirations (FNAs) in the Ultrasound, CT, EUS, Interventional Radiology and ICU departments as requested.
  6. Performs clerical duties when requested.
  7. Maintains microscope and other laboratory equipment in optimal operating condition.
  8. Maintains proficiency in the field.
  9. Maintains clean and orderly work area 90% of the time.
  10. Observes safety regulations and other related hospital policies.
