Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Management:

• Oversee the procurement, installation, and maintenance of all restaurant equipment.

• Develop and implement equipment maintenance schedules to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.

• Conduct regular inspections to identify equipment issues and address them promptly.

2. Repairs and Maintenance:

• Coordinate and perform repairs on restaurant equipment as needed.

• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and develop solutions to minimize downtime.

• Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs, services, and warranties.

3. Vendor Management:

• Liaise with equipment suppliers and service providers to ensure timely delivery of parts and services.

• Negotiate contracts and service agreements to optimize cost-efficiency and quality.

4. Team Management:

• Supervise a team of technicians responsible for equipment maintenance and repairs.

• Provide training and guidance to staff on proper equipment handling and maintenance procedures.

5. Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to restaurant equipment.

• Implement measures to mitigate risks and prevent accidents related to equipment usage.

6. Budgeting and Cost Control:

• Develop and manage the equipment maintenance budget.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize spending.

7. Emergency Response:

• Develop contingency plans for equipment failures and emergencies.

• Respond promptly to urgent equipment repair needs to minimize disruption to restaurant operations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

1. Education: High School Diploma or related field preferred.

2. Experience:

• Proven experience in restaurant facilities management, particularly in equipment management, repairs, and maintenance.

• Strong technical knowledge of restaurant equipment, including HVAC systems, refrigeration units, cooking appliances, etc.

• Experience in supervising and leading a team of technicians.

3. Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Good communication skills to interact with staff, vendors, and other stakeholders effectively.

• Knowledge of relevant safety and regulatory standards in the restaurant industry.

4. Certifications: Relevant certifications in equipment maintenance and repair are advantageous (e.g., HVAC certification, electrical certification, Restaurant Facilities Management etc.).

5. Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Zoho One is a plus, but not required. Can train the right candidate.

6. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physical tasks associated with equipment maintenance and repairs.
