The Environmental Services Team Leader participates in the delivery of quality care and service by performance of a variety of cleaning and support functions that maintain the hospital in a sanitary, orderly and attractive condition. In addition, assumes additional responsibilities such as ensuring adequate staff for the current and subsequent shifts. Physically able to walk, stand, stoop, and lift safely. Ability to understand and follow instructions.

 

 

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Must have strong relationship building skills and the ability to make and use connections throughout the facility to complete projects and maintain strong partnerships with other departments.

- Must have strong initiative and be able to gather and analyze information skillfully and be able to brainstorm alternative resources and directions.

- Must be able to break down complex tasks into manageable parts in a systematic, detailed way and considers input from several sources.

- Must be detail orientation in gathering relevant data while attending to essential details; checks work for accuracy and quality.

- Must be able to problem-solve by identifying and resolving problems in a time manner, as well as develop alternative solutions when needed.

- Must have great flexibility and the ability to continually look for ways to make appropriate adjustments and changes – rather than identifying why things cannot be accomplished – in order to meet to the changing needs of Department and hospital.

- Requires self-discipline to perform work specifically assigned.

- Requires a display of personal attitude, courtesy and appearance for others to look favorably on the institution (much contact with public).

- Required to understand both verbal or written communications and instruction. Must be able to interpret written warnings as posted on doorways and chemicals.

- Requires use of judgment making decisions adherence to standards.

- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

 

Language Ability:

Must have ability to read, analyze, and interpret common and industry-related documents. Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients, families, staff and the general public. Must have the ability to write reports and presentations that conform to prescribed style and format. This may include the ability to create spreadsheets and presentations. Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to give direction to staff and take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the all and department hospital policies.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Must have ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must have the ability to deliver and interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deliver successful results.

 

Computer Skills:

Must have working knowledge Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must have the capacity to learn other relevant systems and databases, as needed.

 

Physical Requirements:

- Sitting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, reaching, stooping – up to 30% of time

Standing, walking, grasping, repetitive movements – more than 50% of time

Twisting and bending – 30% - 50% of time

Lifting up to 100 lbs – up to 30% of time

Carrying up to 50 lbs – up to 30% of time

Exposure of radiation and chemicals – up to 30% of time

- Minimum Experience: 1 year of related experience
