Job description
Manage the activities of the Billing Operations Specialists. Has the responsibility for all aspects of billing operations including billing execution, monitoring of charges, rating, discounts, payments, taxes, and revenue assurance. Additional responsibilities include planning, design, creation, and testing for new products and discounts. Plan, organize, schedule, and control the work of staff under his/her direction.

- Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Manages and provides leadership, mentoring, coaching and career development planning for staff ensuring productivity is maximized and quality is delivered. Cross-train and develop skills of staff, to include succession planning. Hire, train, and give performance feedback to employees.
- Provide leadership and direction to team members to ensure that all processes affecting internal and external customers operate at the highest level of accuracy.
- Participate in the development of short and long-range plans. Plan and report project status. Conduct research, evaluate alternatives, and propose operational solutions. Use existing technology and/or identify software needed to enhance performance, quality, and efficiency. Create, review, and enforce policies, procedures, and standards for departmental use.
- Provide billing and operational expertise, leadership, and supervision of daily activities required for efficient and quality delivery of products, reporting and billing executions. Provide timely resolution to operational problems.
- Develop and/or maintain concise guidelines for the team for efficient daily billing processing and revenue assurance activities.
- Develop effective working relationships with other departments, groups, managers, and vendors. Proactively seek efficient and quality solutions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- REQUIRED
- Must have Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science or business-related discipline or equivalent experience in technical billing operations.
- At least five years of experience with the core functions of billing operations including, billing execution, monitoring of charges, rating, discounts, payments, taxes, and revenue assurance.
- At least 5 years’ experience with product creation, rating, charging, discounts, and invoicing.
- Must have proven experience working from program and creative briefs, business requirement documents, use cases, test cases, functional requirements, and business cases.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
- In-depth understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle required.
- Strong leadership skills required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- PREFERRED
- Relevant Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience leading a team responsible for BSS/OSS operations is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screen. Must be able to work a flexible schedule shared by other department members including some evenings and weekends.
