Job description
Production Manager Hours: M-F 8:00am - 4:30pm This is a key position helping run a growing equipment manufacturer with sales both nationally and internationally. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with the right skill set including: knowledge of machine shop practice and manufacturing, excellent scheduling and follow up capability, leadership skills, excellent people and communication skills along with a comfort with manufacturing computer software. We are looking for a strong, driven individual who is comfortable in a leadership position with a strong manufacturing background. The position entails these activities: Supervise all Production phases to assure high productivity and on time deliveries Plan Production Schedule to meet shipping dates and volume needs Review Drawings and determine the best manufacturing method Interface with engineering dept. to assure that drawings can be manufactured. Plan Inventory levels and re-order points. Determine best methods to manufacture parts and routing. Decide on Make/Buy decisions. Use manufacturing software for scheduling, costing and loading. Work closely with company president to assure manufacturing is in accordance with company plans and requirements. Find and qualify vendors and oversee their quality. Required: Mechanical Engineer. MBA is a plus. 7+ years of hands on manufacturing experience preferably in machinery production environment. Must have previous experience managing others. 2+ years of estimating. N eed to know how to read shop drawings and have experience in a shop like ours. Must be able to work with Shop Foreman and Purchasing and other Production Personnel. Work with sales department to meet their sales need.
