Summary/objective

The  Inventory Specialist will transport materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations. 

Essential Functions

• Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.
• Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
• Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
• Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
• Transport and load materials, supplies, and finished goods.
• When problems arise, resolve issues with contractors or vendors.
• Validates, approves, and forwards invoices to the accounting department. 
• Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Good math and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Efficient time management skills.

None

Work environment

  This job operates in a construction environment. This is a full-time position that may require weekend work or work after hours. Additionally, this position requires up to 100% local travel during the workday.

Physical demands

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 80 pounds (36.29 Kg) at a time.
• Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools.
• Driving to various locations

Travel required

  Travel between the home office, vendors, warehouse, and job sites

Required education and experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years of related experience required.   

Preferred education and experience

• College coursework or other formal training in a related field(s) preferred. 
• 3 or more years of related experience in the logistics field

Must be able to pass a background check and drug during the interview process.
