The Role:
This position is a critical member of the Finance team, supporting an incredibly exciting development pipeline. In alignment with our mindset to act with urgency, this strategic role will contribute to actions that compound the impact and lives saved in the future. As a key finance business partner within the Development organization, you will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, month-end close activities, management reporting, and ad-hoc project support. Embracing the mindset of pursuing options in parallel, you will make informed choices, enhancing our ability to select the best paths forward. This role, based in Cambridge, MA, and reporting to the Executive Director FP&A for R&D, will be an onsite position at least 70% of the time, reflecting our commitment to fostering a collaborative environment that encourages collective action and impactful results.
Heres What Youll Do:
Act as a Finance Business Partner: Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations, embodying our belief in accepting risk as the only path to impact. Your decisions will shape our journey towards significant achievements in the medical field.
Lead Financial Planning Processes: Oversee budgeting and forecasting, aligning with corporate objectives. This reflects our mindset to obsess over learning and pivot fearlessly in response to new data, ensuring our strategies are always informed and adaptable.
Develop Financial Models: Maintain and enhance complex models supporting decision-making, mirroring our ambition to push past possible and explore beyond comfort zones for exceptional results.
Conduct Variance Analysis: Understand performance drivers and identify trends, demonstrating our commitment to question convention and fuel future innovations.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work alongside teams like Development business partners, Accounting, and Procurement, embracing our mindset to remove viscosity for smoother, collective action.
Present Financial Reports: Highlight opportunities and risks in financial reports, showcasing your ability to act with dynamic range, balancing strategy and execution.
Support Monthly and Quarterly Reporting: Contribute to regular financial reports, reflecting our ethos of **behaving like owners**where the solutions we build transcend job descriptions.
Enhance FP&A Processes: Drive continuous improvement in processes and systems, aligning with our mindset to digitize everywhere possible for maximum impact on patients.
Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related area.
Minimum 6+ years in Financial Planning and Analysis or Accounting, with a preference for experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, especially in R&D.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry and preference within a R&D organization is preferred.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with an emphasis on forecasting and budget analysis.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear and actionable insights.
Ability to work independently in an highly ambiguous environment, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency and experience with tier 1 ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) preferred
