This position is eligible for a hybrid (both remote and onsite) telework arrangement. The candidate's permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

About Interceptor Services:

The Interceptor system is the sanitary sewer network of pipes, mains, and tunnels that intercept wastewater flow when it leaves one city and is conveyed through other cities enroute to one of the 9 wastewater reclamation/treatment facilities in the 7-County Metropolitan area. The interceptor system consists of 635 miles of gravity mains, force mains, and siphons; 230 billing and performance meters; and 60 lift stations. The interceptor system serves 2.8 million people from 111 communities. 

Interceptor Services is made of 3 interrelated and distinct divisions - Operations, Engineering, and Construction.

How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:
The Assistant Manager of Interceptor Meter & Alarm 
will ensure the integrity and reliability of the MCES Wastewater Flow Meter system by managing resources that support the system including flow meter data analysis, data management, preventive and corrective maintenance prioritization, and coordination; flow meter system improvements; inflow/infiltration program support; and temporary metering program management. The person in this role will provide flow metering expertise to internal and external customers, resolve critical meter issues, and provide redundancy to the flow meter data analysis functions.


Any of the following combinations of professional experience working with wastewater flow metering and flow meter data analysis AND completed education (degree field of study in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or closely related field.

Union/Salary Grade:  MANA/Grade I

Full Salary Range: $40.86 -$61.67 Hourly/ $84,989 - $128,274 annually

 

  Work Environment:  The majority of work is performed in a standard office setting. This will require some time spent in the field at meter and construction sites.

  What your work environment would be:
Work is generally performed in a standard office setting. May require travel between the primary work site to other sites. The environment may be hot, cold, odorous, and/or dirty, or dusty. Occasionally may be required to work evenings and weekends.

  Physical Requirements

Occasionally requires field inspection, ladder, and stair climbing, and walking. Appropriate safety equipment must be used. Some positions require working outdoors in inclement weather, swimming, and the ability to push, shove, and lift.
