Ames Base County Story Counties Served Story Objective Story County Extension offers off-campus internships to ISU students who assist in the delivery of research-based educational programming to youth and adults during the summer semester. Interns a ssist with delivering research-based educational programming to youth and adults and ensure positive youth development of youth program participants. Responsibilities Student interns are selected based on their academic discipline, experience, skills, and interests. Areas of emphasis include 4-H youth education, 4-H clubs, Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) education, Ag and Natural Resources (ANR) education, nutrition education, summer camps, and county fair. Qualifications High School diploma/equivalent. Strong written and oral communication skills. Team player and people oriented. Critical thinking skills, ability to multi-task and organize. Skilled in MS Office, data entry, e-mail and social media. Must pass a background check following the child protection policy. Additional Information Depending on the program supported, interns may need to travel to and from the programming location. Interns are encouraged to carpool. Interns who drive to and from programs will be required to have a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle with proof of vehicle liability coverage and will be reimbursed for travel expenses. Schedule Type: Full or part-time. Position, schedule, or hours of work: Multiple positions for summer, based on availability, programmatic needs, and duties assigned.
