We are looking for a Controller to oversee all financial aspects of its franchise business operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Controller will be responsible for managing financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Controller will also work with the Field teams to implement and monitor key operational metrics to drive the business on a day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive financial strategy to support business objectives
RESPONSIBILITIES
? Lead the accounting and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) process, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
o Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
o Develop and implement financial strategies to support the overall business objectives of the franchisor
o Monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators to track progress against goals
o Prepare and achieve recommendations to achieve productivity improvement
o Oversee financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual unaudited and audited financial statements, and accounts reconciliation
? Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivables, and payroll
o Review and approve financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures
o Manage cash flow, collections, working capital, and capital allocation
? Manage the budgeting process, including setting targets, monitoring variances, and adjusting forecasts as needed
o Work closely with managers to efficiently develop budget proposals and provide strategic financial guidance to field teams and franchise owners to optimize financial performance
o Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements to optimize financial performance
? Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial regulation
o Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks
o Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and regulatory agencies
o Be accountable for the company’s financial records
? Develop and maintain financial models and analysis tools to support decision-making
o Conduct regular financial reviews and performance evaluations to identify areas of improvement
o Implement technology solutions to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
? Manage the finance team (3 members) by providing financial support to all functional personnel. Mentor and develop finance professionals to enhance their skills and capabilities
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
? Proven work experience as a Controller or similar position, or a minimum of 8 years of experience in financial management
? Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business accounting, or finance
? Professional accreditation (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred
? Prior experience with Great Plains is preferred
? Advanced experience of Excel is required
