Surgical Charge Specialist

Job description

Responsible for reviewing clinical documentation which includes supplies, implants, unique charge codes and time fields associated with patient charges. Relays deficiencies to appropriate team members to resolve prior to posting logs to ensure accurate surgical charges. Collaborates with other departments to problem-solve and identify best practices and charge capture workflows impacting all surgical departments.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
• Experience:  Two years previous experience in Health Care, preferred.
• Additional Skills (required):
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Flexibility required to work extended hours to cover month-end processes.
  • Computer literacy.
• Additional Skills (preferred):
  • Possess critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills with ability to meet tight timelines.
  • Maintains consistent professional demeanor with demonstrated team collaboration.
  • Must be able to work remotely without supervision.
