About
Founded in 1853, the parish of St. Mary Help of Christians has served diligently to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ for over 150 years to the people of Aiken, South Carolina.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Replace electrical receptacles, wires, bulbs, ballast, switches, fixtures, and motors.
- Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
- Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
- Paint structures and equipment.
- Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
- Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles.
- Hang doors and install door locks.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance on exhaust fans, emergency lighting, HVAC equipment, water coolers, pumps, and facility operating equipment.
- Performing general maintenance on equipment and facility infrastructure.
- Crawl under and work on the top side of buildings as needed to make repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred
- Must have 2 years of recent experience as a General Maintenance Worker
- Must be able to push, pull, and/or lift 70 lbs.
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Basic knowledge of Catholic Social Teachings is preferred, but not required.
