Job Description:

The Developmental Education Student Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting and empowering students enrolled in developmental education courses at Normandale Community College. This position combines group and individual meetings with program improvement to create a comprehensive support system for students.

The Coordinator provides individualized attention and guidance to students, helping them set and achieve SMART goals, overcome academic barriers and challenges, and monitor their progress throughout the program. The Coordinator also leads biweekly group learning sessions to foster a sense of belonging and academic self-efficacy among students, and plan the curriculum for these meetings.

The Developmental Education Student Coordinator plays a vital role in increasing enrollment, retention, graduation, and transfer rates, and participates in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in developmental education and student support.

This position will actively advance the college's strategic goals, including achieving equity in educational outcomes and supporting a culturally responsive and service-oriented culture, through individual and departmental efforts.
