Job description

NOW HIRING COOK! - We are a growing facility located in sunny Hurricane Utah, and we are looking for a Cook/Kitchen staff member to join the Hurricane Family.

Pay: Starting @ $15.00 - $16.00+ per hour, w/ Performance Based Pay Increases. (Depending on experience level.)

Shifts: 3x days per week. Saturday, Sunday, Monday. - Day shift - 12 hour shift.

Time Type: Full Time. (36hrs+)

Job Responsibilities:

• Attends work as scheduled
• Assist Dietary Manager with kitchen operations and menu planning.
• Responds promptly and works to resolve residents and families concerns/complaints.
• Preparation and cooking of food items as determined by standard recipes.
• inventory control.
• Demonstrates extensive knowledge of food handling and storage procedures with regard to public health standards.
• Establishes and ensures adherence to all product: quality, consistency, presentation, portion control, garnishment, and utilization goals.
• Demonstrating proper operation of all equipment according to proper procedures, and testing equipment to ensure accuracy of temperature gauges, heating or cooling elements, etc.
• Works in a clean, sanitary, safe, and organized manner, abiding by all health and safety regulations.
• Maintains all department logs according to policies and procedures
• Prepare and cook meals according to approved recipes and portion sizes.
• Follow dietary guidelines and accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions.
• Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet the highest standards.

Position Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Cook in a healthcare or institutional setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes, dietary guidelines, and portion control.
• Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and shifts as needed.
