We are seeking a Supervisor to join our Environmental Services department . This position is a full-time (night shift), scheduled 40 hours per week and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

Location:

Mid Columbia Medical Center is located in The Dalles, Oregon. We work, live, and play in the scenic Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. Located 85 miles east of Portland in the majestic Columbia River Gorge, The Dalles features old-growth forests, rushing waterfalls, and year-round access to outdoor recreation, including downhill and cross-country skiing, world-class water sports, and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. The area boasts award-winning wineries, and, most importantly, warm, friendly people.

Under minimal supervision, responsible for coordinating the administrative and/or operational activities of the Environmental Services Department. Supervisor is responsible to oversee the daily functions of assigned shifts. Works within the standard performing cleaning services as well as performing shift supervision. In collaboration with the director, creates an environment where strong morale and spirit exist within a team and in which people can do their best.

• Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent in training and experience required. College level course work is preferred. 
• Licensure/Certification:
• Current valid applicable state driver’s license and a driving record that meets insurance carrier requirements
• Experience:
• Five years progressively responsible work in health industry with at least two years in a supervisory/management role required. Experience within an Environmental Services profession preferred.
• Experience with using every day technology tools (e.g. email, voicemail, internet/intranet,) to access information. 
• Experience in interacting with all levels of the organization.
• Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
• Ability to use de-escalation tactics when confronted with potentially hostile situations.
• Ability to recognize escalating situations and access appropriate authorities for assistance.
• Ability to make independent decisions quickly as well as communicate with other healthcare professionals during stressful situations.
• Ability to follow appropriate problem resolution processes.
• Knowledge of chemicals used in Environmental Services and Linen Services
• Knowledge of Joint Commission regulations and safety codes.
• Ability to provide back up to the Director in processing payroll, scheduling, and progressive discipline in their absence.
• Strong customer orientation and ability to motivate others.
