Job description
Green View, a distinguished landscape architecture and design firm, is renowned for crafting sustainable, functional, and visually appealing outdoor spaces. Our expertise spans residential, commercial, and public projects, with a steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship and client satisfaction. We are currently seeking a full-time Landscape Designer in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for landscape architecture, a strong design sensibility, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues. As a Landscape Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and managing projects from initial client consultation through to completion.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and create initial sketches, mood boards, and design proposals that integrate functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability principles.
- Conduct comprehensive site analysis, including assessment of environmental factors, topography, soil conditions, and existing vegetation to inform design decisions.
- Refine conceptual designs based on client feedback and site constraints. Develop detailed landscape plans, including planting plans, hardscape layouts, lighting plans, and material selections.
- Maintain open and clear communication with clients throughout the design and construction process, providing regular updates on project status and ensuring client satisfaction with the final result.
- Stay updated with current trends, technologies, and best practices in landscape architecture and design. Incorporate innovative and sustainable design solutions into projects.
Qualifications
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in Landscape Design, Horticulture, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in landscape design, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp.
- Strong understanding of plant materials, hardscape materials, and construction techniques.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
