Job description

Responsible for monitoring the AHS’s compliance in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and local dietary standards, guidelines, and regulations. Ensures that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times. 

The Dietician will counsel clients on nutrition issues and healthy eating habits. Responsibilities include clinical nutrition assessment and documentation for patients of the MMC Family Medicine outpatient office. They will work in tandem with our primary care providers to promote health and manage disease. They will work with our Obesity Medicine Board Certified physicians to implement and extend the weight management program. Must have exceptional nutritional counseling and time management skills.

Must be able to provide an exceptional patient care and experience within our organizations mission and vision.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Provides clinical nutrition assessment, counseling and documentation for primary care including bariatric/weight management. 
2. Maintains quality assurance and evaluates compliance with corporate policies and procedures and State and Federal guidelines.
3. Assists in planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating the MMC Family Medicine Weight Management program including individual and group visits.
4. Manages and improves policies, procedures, and programs to assure compliance with regulatory requirements by making oral/written recommendations to the lead physician.
5. Develops and participates in educational sessions for residents to increase knowledge and improve patient outcomes. 
6. Reviews appropriate web sites, publications and other educational materials to ensure that the standards of practice are being achieved.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science or related field.
2. Licensed with the State of New Jersey as a Registered Dietetic Technician or Registered Dietician or Dietary Manager Association or as applicable.

Preferred:
1. 2-3 year’s experience in primary care clinical nutrition or relevant area.
