Job Title: Part Time Human Resource Assistant

Business Unit: Western Management, Inc.

Reports To: HR Benefits Coordinator

CONTRIBUTION

Assists the Human Resource Department in carrying out the daily HR administration functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assists with new hire orientations and completes new hire paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.

Management of time clock issues/verification of hours.

Assists for the daily administration of pre-employment background and drug tests.

Tracking and entry of Annual and Probationary Reviews

Files employee information.

Creates new hire folders and files terminated employee folders.

Creates counseling forms for unexcused absences.

Processing and data entry of counseling form.

Preparation and mailing of employee birthday and anniversary cards.

Assists with special human resource projects as needed.

Provides administrative support to the human resource department as needed.

Any other duty necessary for customer service or perceived by or assigned to the role.

PRIMARY INTERACTIONS

The Human Resource Assistant regularly interacts with the HR Manager, Payroll department, corporate personnel, and department/branch management at all companies; and frequently interacts with location personnel. The employee occasionally interacts with executive/business unit leaders and vendors in charge of our pre-employment screening.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in a seated position, use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, and telephone keypad, and speak and listen, both over the phone and in person to customers and fellow employees, in order to perform the above listed duties. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to work standing up and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must regularly life and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee must be able to climb 27 stairs at least twice a day to get to work area.

MISCELLANEOUS

The employee is required to have an acceptable driving record, in line with the stated Company Policy, and they must have a valid driver's license in the state in which they are employed with the Conrad Companies.

The employee must comply with all aspects of Conrad's Drug Free Workplace Policy.
