Onsite This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report in Warren, Michigan on a full-time basis.
The Role
The Community Operations Manager is a people leader who is responsible for developing strategies, looking ahead and growing the capacity for future success. They have ultimate responsibility for providing leadership and mentorship to the facilities operations team, ensuring overall success of the team.
What You'll Do
Strategic planning with executive staff/division for headcount forecast and utilization.
Link to the customer through the OGM’s on all facilities matters.
Manage Facilities personnel/services –training, development, and evaluation.
Team with other OGM’s for information and sharing lessons learned.
Identify, communicate, and manage opportunities to support business plan objectives.
Internal / external communication.
Coordinate environmental, utilities, security, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain (GSC), contract administration, and Facility Engineering & Projects
Interface with local business, government, and Warren Municipal Teams
Administer budgets and project funding.
Business plan preparation and coordination of FACILITIES objectives with the plant leadership. Update/monitor performance measurements.
Leads successful planning and execution of the Global Safety and IH Management System (Global Facilities related) including but not limited to speak up for safety, call to action, safety observation tours, employee safety concerns, incident investigation, safety module compliance, sentinel events, and G-Comply (Sign-off procedure)
Observe facility projects to insure adherence to customer requirements and corporate standards.
Support implementation of GMS, including administration of planned maintenance objectives.
Leverage resources throughout organization as necessary.
Assign specific tasks (functional elements) to the responsible Direct Reports
Assist Facilities team with resolution of supplier problems, as required.
Compile data gathered by FACILITIES team and report to management as required
Administer GM Corporate Process Risk Management (PRM) policies
Lead of ERCT and support crises preparedness activities
Assure the collection and analysis of data including Help Desk reports, customer satisfaction survey, monthly report on expenses (ROE), financial data, square footage occupied and available, density ratios, FM Scorecard, Human Resources and Industrial Engineering (where applicable)
Conduct regular informational stakeholder meetings, attend stakeholders staff meetings, conduct Sustainable Workplaces site specific team meetings, and Business Plan Deployment reviews. Drives strategic, analytical, and tactical planning and decisions.
Optimize building and facility services guided by industry benchmark standards including but not limited to: space utilization (move service center, furniture/ergonomics), energy efficiency, Service Agreement deliverables, and On-Demand activities
Safety
Promote safe work practices as the highest priority and implement objectives for ergonomics, health/safety and housekeeping.
Workplace Safety System involvement
Emergency Response Facilities coordinator/ ERCT Lead
Support methods to assure completion of Safety tours, safety talks, Take 2 process, Pre-task planning
Assist in compliance with Corporate and UAW safety programs.
People
Human Resource Management (HRM) Administration.
Administer CAP process and complete performance reviews for all salaried employees in his or her staff.
Build and maintain good working relationships and integrity with employees, union, management and supplier community.
Empower employees to continuously improve their work and support them by eliminating and managing constraints.
Effectively select, develop, motivate, and utilize human resources in accordance with corporate and governmental policies and procedures.
Quality
GTC facility related production interruption notification - escalation
Support the implementation of Maximo Strategies into related Site Operations.
Support the understanding and utilization of tools for product, process, and system improvement and problem solving such as:
Support Practical Problem-Solving Process
Statistical Process Control / Data Feedback Process
Corrective Action Reporting Process
Responsiveness
Ensure prompt response to issues negatively impacting GTC
Foster continuous improvements in all aspects of the business.
Responsible to connect with the construction teams on the campus through capital projects, and to be the interface for planning how our operations team will maintain the incoming requirements on equipment, systems, and layout for current and future products
Cost
Manage FACILITIES budget and meets cost objectives.
Provide input to the establishment of department budget and efficiency goals and utilizes analytical tools to improve throughput and system efficiency.
Assist SW Facilities in minimizing operating cost
Environment
Coordinate or ensure compliance with corporate environmental / energy programs. Support and promote environmental activities/initiatives such as Project GREEN, Wildlife Habitat Council, EnergyStar, LEED, and landfill free.
Serve as connection point for signatory requirements at GTC
Your Skills & Abilities
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Management or equivalent experience
8+ years’ experience in facilities operations.
Strong computer skills including being proficient at Microsoft Office software.
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
Strong problem solving/decision making skills
Proficient oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills
Ability to track, develop, and interpret metrics.
