Position: Technical Project Manager
Location: Remote (US or LATAM)
Duration: 12 months
Pay rate:$50-$60/hr on w2
This Technical PM will lead/manage a large data center migration. The first 6 months of the project will be planning and budgeting. The second 6 months will be implementation of the migration. This team utilizes confluence, JIRA, Google Docs, and Slack.
Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Strategy:
- Lead the development of comprehensive migration plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.
- Assess technical requirements and dependencies to develop effective migration strategies.

Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and risks.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and business units.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns in a timely and proactive manner.

Risk Management and Mitigation:
- Identify potential risks and dependencies that may impact the migration process.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
- Implement monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track project risks and escalate issues as needed.

Resource Coordination and Allocation:
- Coordinate resources and allocate tasks effectively to ensure timely execution of project deliverables.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to procure necessary resources and support services.
- Optimize resource utilization and workflow efficiency throughout the migration process.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Establish quality standards and performance metrics to evaluate the success of the migration project.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Implement corrective actions and process improvements to address any deviations from quality standards.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of project plans, workflows, and configurations.
- Generate regular progress reports, status updates, and post-migration assessments for stakeholders and leadership.
- Capture lessons learned and best practices to inform future migration projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience (5+ years) managing complex datacenter migration projects in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of datacenter infrastructure, cloud technologies, and virtualization platforms.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Project).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and meeting project objectives.
- Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) are a plus.
