Job description

The Division of Endocrinology in the Department of Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time obesity medicine physician with a tentative start date of July 1, 2022.

The clinical outpatient position has a mixture of responsibilities including  precepting trainees, direct patient care, and teaching responsibilities to increase the capacity of the Medical Weight Program. UNC's multidisciplinary weight management services are multimodal with tight integration of lifestyle, behavioral, pharmacological, endoscopic and surgical therapies.

Academic rank is open and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants need to apply online at https://unc.peopleadmin.com/postings/220668 by February 9, 2022. Chapel Hill is a beautiful place to live and work in the North Carolina research triangle. Total compensation for productive clinical faculty is on par or better than most academic centers with especially attractive benefits. The work environment is very supportive and friendly, with ample opportunities for research and scholarship. We have a very active obesity pharmacotherapeutic trials unit, and candidates will have opportunities to get trained in conducting industry clinical trials and become principal investigators in future. All these benefits come with a bonus of the mild North Carolina weather well suited for year-round outdoor activities, easy access to the cultural activites in Raleigh and one of the state’s best public school districts.
