The Global Controller will bring all of our key Finance processes together to ensure that our operations are efficient and align with our business objectives. To collaborate across the network, build best practices, and maintain consistently high standards and client service orientation in executing Finance processes across locations, as a part of the Business Professionals' community.
This role is suited to a senior Finance leader with experience in driving large-scale Finance processes and process improvement to drive operational excellence across the Finance function in support of our internal clients. The role holder will be a highly collaborative key member of the Finance Leadership Team, which requires liaising closely with Finance leaders across the Firm. They will also operate with a high degree of autonomy, embedding the strategic approach and executing strategic initiatives across all areas of the Finance function.
Responsibilities:
- Partnering with Service Centre leaders in refining and implementing globally standardized and streamlined Accounting and Finance processes
- Continue to review, refine, and improve the adoption of global, standardized, automated Finance processes in line with the Firm’s vision, as well as applicable and changing local regulatory standards
- Collaborate with global Service Centre leaders and Specialist Finance functions to refine Accounting guidelines for collecting, processing, and producing analyses of all Firm accounting information
- Lead the global end-to-end Accounting operations/service delivery team to meet mutually agreed SLAs around accounting activity, reconciliation, adjustment and ledger finalizations, and allocations
- Drive Finance process efficiency, compliance, and performance metrics
- Partner with key internal resources and external technology vendors to design and implement creative automation, especially around reconciliation, as well as management and statutory reporting
- Set and review the maintenance of transparent and reliable data governance
- Maintain and ensure general ledger and balance sheet accuracy in conjunction with in-market accounting resources
- Develop and manage the Firm's Accounting function, ensuring that the team is fully aligned with the Accounting End-to-End process
- Work closely with all Finance Global Process Owners (GPOs) and the Firm's Finance leadership to develop and implement the Firm's Finance policies in line with all relevant local laws and regulations
- Lead, develop, and coach the Firm-wide Accounting End-to-End services team as a key component of the Firm's service delivery model to meet the needs of clients and stakeholders in an integrated manner, consistent with the strategic initiatives of alignment and integration
- Proactively engage and support offices and in-market personnel with local compliance and statutory obligations
- Engage with and support external auditors, as required
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree focusing on Financial Management, Accounting, or other related areas; Master of Business Administration (with a specialization in Finance) or CA/CPA/CFA certification required.
- Strong relevant experience in Finance and Accounting in Finance Operations and/or Finance Shared Services in a professional services organization is preferred.
- Proven ability to influence, interact, and consult with senior leaders regarding finance processes, guidelines, and compliances
- Strong technical acumen and ability to understand and relay important accounting concepts to senior leaders across the Firm
- Demonstrated expertise in operational efficiency and financial planning. Strong in project management and systemic thinking
- Demonstrated ability to assess risk and take decisive, appropriate actions, especially in the case of exception requests
- Ability to network and collaborate with teams both regional and global, while acknowledging their cultural, social, and academic diversity
- Strong working proficiency in using MS Office and other Productivity Tools, including hands-on experience with native SAP reporting capabilities
