The Power Performance team is seeking a test engineer to provide technical guidance & leadership for power curve testing. Scope includes leading & supporting contractual power performance tests, advancing power curve related test methods for validation & contractual testing, developing tools to analyze & report test results, and engagement with state-of-art test methods and industry standards.

Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure robust power curve test methods for validation and contractual testing
- Characterize fleet power performance within the System Simulation team, ensure application to new product development and issue resolution
- Execute and/or lead contractual power performance tests
- Provide input to and aid in strategy development for tools used to analyze & report power curve test results
- Diagnose performance data from operating wind turbines. Support technical root cause analyses of field performance.
- Innovate by investigating & validating new methods of testing as related to power curves
- Maintain expertise in power curve test methods and industry standards
- Own and drive lessons learned, best practices and standardization into test documentation and processes. Collaborate with other segments on this.
- Contribute to and in some cases own standard work processes and design practices
- Coach and mentor team members
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant wind engineering experience
Desired Characteristics
- Experience with IEC-based power curve testing
- Demonstrated expertise in wind turbine power curve testing
- Ability to navigate complexity, develop clear action plans, and drive change
- Strong wind turbine expertise in Systems Engineering or System Simulation disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to work in a global, matrix organizational environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong technical aptitude & drive to improve test methods
- Experience with analysis, design, database and/or visualization tools such as MATLAB, Python, Simulink, ENOVIA, Tableau…
- Participation on IEC standards committees, with industry workgroups, and with independent engineers test organizations
- Fluid mechanics (e.g. turbulence) and/or atmospheric sciences experience
- Advanced degree (MS, PhD) in Engineering
The salary range for this position is 109,500.00 -182,500.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. Available benefits include Health, Medical, 401K, Paid Leave.
