About the Role
This position is primarily responsible for the design and production of promotional and informational materials, including brochures and programs, periodicals, website visuals, advertisements, fliers, and technical documents. The position acts as an ambassador to all AIHA employees, vendors, members, and clients to educate and, when necessary, enforce brand guidelines. While AIHA works with vendors for large scale video and photography needs, the position supplements with additional smaller scope video and photography, including filming and editing. This position reports to the Director, Marketing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design and Production
- Designs, oversees, and coordinates the production of promotional and informational materials for the association's digital and print, advertising, internet, and intranet needs.
- Designs and produces robust, engaging digital and print advertisements for paid advertising campaigns, including outside advertising and paid social media.
- Designs and produces graphics for all AIHA websites.
- Works with the AIHA website specialist on web layout and design.
- Provides graphic support for AIHA conferences including program design, signage, and graphics as needed.
- Serves as a resource for staff on production or design issues.
- Maintains contracts with printers, binderies, mail-houses, etc.
- Create deliverables, and maintain deadlines for outside advertising with partner organizations inclusive of print ads, website banners, social, etc.
Branding - Maintains and communicates the quality and consistency of the overall association "branding" per established brand guidelines.
- Makes branding recommendations to senior management based on current industry and design standards.
- Enforces brand continuity on all internal and external communication pieces.
Periodicals and Technical Publications –
- Layout and design print and digital versions of multiple technical publications submitted by AIHA departments and various volunteer groups.
Video and Photography - Film short internal and external facing videos.
- Edit videos and produce final product.
- Update evergreen videos with new “tops” and “tails” consistent with branding guidelines referencing years.
- Photograph employees, clients, products, and events as needed when not covered by large contract vendors.
Qualifications Education & Experience - Bachelor’s degree required in relevant area. Five years of experience will be considered in lieu of education.

- Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
- Powerpoint
- Microsoft Word
- Working knowledge of:
- Best print practices
- Managing production vendors
- Filming, including audio best practices
- Video editing software such as Premier Pro
- Photography
- Microsoft Outlook and Sharepoint
Travel Travel may be required for this position. Attendance at our annual conference is anticipated.
Residency Requirement Based on our business set-up and to maximize remote work opportunities, AIHA only employs individuals who live in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia. To be considered a candidate must live in, or be willing to relocate to, Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia.
Salary The pay for this position ranges from $65k to $70k based on experience.
