Summary

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department. Responsibilities for supervising the day-to-day operations of Hotel Housekeeping are to directly supervise: Housekeeping Supervisors, Guest Room Attendants, Housekeeping Room Inspectors, House Persons, Pool Attendants, Housekeeping Clerks, and Linen Attendants. This job plays a critical role in achieving the product goals of Cache Creek Casino Resort and in the development of people and experience. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will provide direct support to the Housekeeping Manager and Executive Housekeeper.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist in directing and participates in all functions of the Housekeeping department to ensure maximum cleanliness of resort facilities.
• Assist in managing the entire cleaning operation, directing, and ensuring consistent standards of performance.
• Assist in the day-to-day running of all aspects of assigned departments.
• Assist in ensuring that all company and departmental policies and procedures are followed daily.
• Ensure departments are operated in a manner to consistently achieve the standards set forth by management to ensure total guest satisfaction and exceptional product/property cleanliness.  
• Maintain a positive, friendly and caring attitude with arriving and departing guests, department personnel, colleagues and other property personnel.
• Actively, openly, and continuously communicates with guests, prospective customers and employees.
• Coordinate and execute regular training and development of the team to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality cleaning service standards.
• Assist the Housekeeping Manager and Executive Housekeeper with linen inventories.
• Assist in the proper training, counseling, and disciplining of all department personnel.
• Assist in the day-to-day running of the linen department.
• Perform all department equipment and supply orders.
• Monitor equipment, appliances, furniture, room supplies and general appearance of rooms to ensure all is up to Four Diamond standards.
• Support department targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure communication meetings are conducted and post-meeting minutes are generated.
• Monitor and conduct weekly inventory of all housekeeping supplies ensuring that staff has the necessary supplies to perform their assignments.
• Ensure union contract is adhered to and assigned credits are met per contract.
• Prepare and follows up on incident and accident reports.
• Monitor guest complaints and takes corrective action when necessary.
• Prepare and review daily housekeeping reports.
• Lead room deep cleaning maintenance program.
• Inspect hotel rooms and public areas daily to ensure that cleanliness meets hotel standards.
• Assure safety and security policies and procedures are consistently followed.
• Assist in reviewing and monitoring work schedules to ensure staffing guidelines are followed and all business needs are covered.
• Maintain positive, friendly and caring attitude with arriving and departing guests, department personnel, colleagues and other property personnel.
• Maintain confidentiality of all property and classified informatiom

Supervisory Responsibilities

Assist in managing supervisors who supervise the Housekeeping Department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Minimum of two years related experience and/or training in a related field.

Age Requirement

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Must possess ability to solve practical problems and deal with an array of variables in any situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
