About the Position:
With supervision, provides assessments; individual, marital, and family therapy ; and education services to a diverse clientele .
A Typical Day as a Behavioral Health Therapist:
- Conduct family centered, inclusive, trauma-responsive, and strengths-based assessments of the behavioral health needs of individual youth and adults, couples, and families;
- Partner with clients and identified collaterals to develop treatment goals to address their presenting issues and needs;
- Build on client strengths and provide goal-directed mental health therapy and counseling services to clients
- Offer services at times convenient to clients to include some evenings;
- Coordinate services with and provide consultation to other systems on behalf of clients, such as schools, medical providers, case workers/care coordinators, etc.
- Document services as required by legal statute, funder requirements, and agency policies.
Location:
2610 W Richwoods Blvd. Peoria, IL 61604, with willingness to provide counseling services to clients t hrough various modalities (individual, couple, family, group, in office, outreach, telehealth) based on client preference and need
Work Hours:
Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based around the availability of clients.
Does the Following Apply to You?
- Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or Psychology, or closely related Human Service field.
- 2 years of experience in a clinical position (preferred)
Additional Qualifications:
- Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Obtain an insured vehicle
- At least three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license
