Accountant Consultant responsibilities for clients include:
Performs general accounting operations and ensures integrity of financial information, as directed by the Accounting Manager or Controller.
Job Description
The Accountant Consultant is part of the Advisory Services team with responsibilities including processing accounting transactions such as cash receipts, account payable, fixed asset transactions, and expense accruals, reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger, and preparing journal entries.
We are looking for 5 years’ operational accounting experience, preferably with public companies or large private companies. Consulting experience is a big plus.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounting transactions (accounts payable, vendor payments, expense reports, cash receipts, fixed assets, payroll, accounts receivable, general ledger)
- Ensure proper supporting documentation for transactions processed.
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies.
- Account reconciliations accurately by deadlines
- Process month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
Requirements
Required skills and experience:
- Degree in accounting or finance [or work experience equivalent]
- 5+ years as an Accountant in a public company
- Proficiency in accounting software - For example, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle.
- MS Excel proficient including VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables (Macros a plus)
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards
