University Radiology, the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in NJ, is comprised of over 180 Board Certified radiologists with advanced U.S.-based training and expertise in all modalities and all subspecialty areas. In operation for more than 60 years, University Radiology staffs, manages and provides preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for hospitals, imaging centers and other medical facilities, and serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Our physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year.
University Radiology is looking for a full-time Breast Biopsy/Mammo Technologist for our Neptune, NJ Imaging Office .
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, 1 Saturday/month (with a comp day off during the week)
- Operates all diagnostic, stereotactic and vacuum assisted equipment to perform breast biopsy procedures
- Maintains required documentation for ACR QC including yearly renewal applications and breast pathology correlation
- Has a capable knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the procedures performed.
- Maintains knowledge of procedure protocols required to assist the radiologist in performing the breast biopsy procedures.
- Obtains pertinent clinical history required for radiologist review and approval of biopsy procedures.
- Maintains the required number of mammograms per MQSA standards
- Reports to the Administrative Technologist(s) to coordinate the technologist schedule in that office.
- Reports problems to the Technical Director of Biopsy.
- Knows the application and location of the supply items in the department.
- Understands and applies skills to locate patient images for procedures
- May require lifting patients for proper placement onto the examination table.
- Completes all mandatory URG in-services annually.
- Acts as Radiologist/Surgeon liaison.
- Ensures specimens are handled per protocol.
- Ensures pathology results are available within 72 hours post procedure or notifies the Radiologist of the delay.
- Is responsible to notify referring Physician of biopsy results per protocol.
- ARRT(R)(M) required
- 3+ years of current experience, including stereotactic biopsy and needle localizations
- NJ State License and CPR Certification required
