The Associate Director, Technology Services & Support, resides in the Technology & Digital Programs Division of University Libraries, the division that provides and supports digital library services, web applications, discovery services, endpoint management, information security and privacy, digitization and digital preservation, and technical infrastructure and reports to the Associate Dean for Technology and Digital Programs. The Associate Director collaboratively and consultatively leads the planning, development, and operation of Libraries client computing infrastructure resources and services, including the IT Service Desk. This role provides direction to a department of professional staff and student workers and oversees endpoint management, printing, shares, and other aspects of support for over 650 user endpoints and approximately 25 servers. This role coordinates user service functions to ensure timely and complete delivery, consistent user communication and overall service excellence. The Associate Director provides leadership and vision in the planning and integration of new technologies; fosters excellent user service; works with management and users to set goals; defines priorities and processes and strive for continuous improvement for the client service area; develops and communicates strategic roadmaps and service level agreements; and serves as a member of the division’s leadership team. The Associate Director requires a focus on excellent user service, a high volume of problem resolution, and an understanding of ITIL standards to ensure quality delivery of computing resources. Develops budgets, chargebacks, and cost models as needed. An ideal candidate will function as a leader, manager, and doer in order to provide technology support and services that enables the staff and the Libraries overall to optimally function on a day to day basis. Responds to evening, weekend, and holiday emergency service calls, or during emergencies / disasters, as needed. Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or comparable field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • At least 5 years of IT management experience including at least 5 years of end point management and help desk oversight. • ITIL certification. Desired Qualifications:• 7-10 years of IT Management experience. • Experience working in an academic setting. Application Information: The posting range for this position is $99,000 to $133,000.
