Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000 Annual Base Salary Commensurate with Experience

Hunters Run sits on 990 acres in Southeast Florida located in the Boynton Beach area. The Club amenities include 54-holes of championship golf, 30 Racquet Sports' courts, Fitness Center and multiple dining areas. The community has over 1,600 residences. Position Summary :

The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for assisting the Golf Course Superintendent with management, direction, and leadership of the golf course and grounds operations.

Responsibilities Include:

• Scheduling and leading the team by delegating assignments, providing guidance, training, coaching and assistance to ensure work is completed as expected and in a timely manner.
• Ensuring the golf course is maintained and in proper playing condition.
• Supervising, leading and assisting in in the daily set-up and maintenance of the golf course
• Supervising, leading and assisting in all planting, fertilizing and care of turf, plants, shrubs, trees and other facilities on the golf course.
• Ensuring all crew are properly trained on the operation, maintenance, care and storage of equipment and issues are reported promptly and appropriately to the Equipment Manager.
  
• Observing daily playing conditions including mowing quality, green speeds, bunker conditions, course setup and soil moisture.
• Inspecting and maintaining course drainage, irrigation and watering systems.
• Developing, and implementing a comprehensive safety program that is in compliance with local, state and federal laws and ensures standards are practiced.
• Communicating, as necessary, with other department personnel to discuss conditions of the facilities, maintenance plans and scheduled events.
• Ensuring chemicals, petroleum, and other controlled products are used, stored, recorded and disposed of in accordance with local, state and federal regulations and products are efficiently utilized.
• Attending employee and management meetings, turf conferences, workshops and other educational programs to maintain a current knowledge of technical and turf innovations and changes that may affect the department’s operations.
• Performing golf course maintenance tasks including those assigned by Golf Course Superintendent or Director of Golf Course Maintenance, and other tasks as directed.

  Qualifications (knowledge, skills and abilities):

• Associate degree or certificate in Agronomy, Horticulture or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in golf course maintenance with a progressive career track.
• Excellent oral and written communication and team building skills.
• Florida Pesticide license or ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment,
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to understand, interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to work a schedule that will include some weekends and holidays.
