Position Summary:

The Manager on Duty serves as the floor supervisor for shifts and plays a critical role in the success of our co-op. The position supports the Store Director and Department Managers in ensuring excellent customer outcomes, effective team leadership, a positive and safe work environment, organized and efficient operations, a visually appealing space, and strong financial outcomes. This position will provide direct support, as needed, to all departments including customer service, cashiering, stocking and facing product, light food prep, light housekeeping, and other duties.

Specific areas of accountability include customer service, ensuring visually appealing retail displays, efficient day-to-day store operations, staff support and supervision (directing, coaching, discussing concerns with leadership, etc.), safety, and sustaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.

Who We're Looking For:

• Retail Experience: Experience in retail setting with high volume customer service
• Team Leadership: Team lead or supervisory experience including staff direction, coaching, and training 
• Customer Service: Experience providing prompt and respectful customer service, going "above and beyond" to delight customers
• Communication: Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff in a responsive and caring manner
• Multi-tasking: Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, delegate, and manage time efficiently in order to complete daily tasks effectively and efficiently
• Problem Solving: Ability to effectively identify issues, utilize resources and creativity in finding solutions to achieve results
• Initiative: Ability to assess situations, anticipate store and department needs, and proactively address
• Adaptability: Ability to be flexible and quickly adjust to changing needs of store operations
• "Can-Do-Attitude": Demonstrates a positive, adaptable, and flexible attitude with a strong commitment to being a team player
• Basic Math: Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry Knowledge: Experience in grocery retail setting
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills including ability to draft and upload documents, email, and navigate Excel spreadsheets
• Multilingual

Location: 1500 7th St W, Saint Paul, MN 55102

Schedule: 1:30pm - 9:30pm, 5 shifts per week including one weekend day, and holiday hours to meet department needs. Flexibility required to meet business needs.

Physical and Working Requirements:

This position requires frequent standing as well as walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, stooping, pulling, fine motor manipulation, climbing (ladders), lifting of up to 50lbs, the ability to work on a point of sale system and move around our store and storage rooms, with or without reasonable accommodation.
