Job description

A new and exciting position has opened for a Nursing Manager Women’s Children’s for a certified Baby Friendly Hospital in the Greater Seattle area. This is your opportunity to join a fantastic Labor and Delivery team that prioritizes the continuous improvement of patient care.

The Women’s and Children’s Nursing Manager will take on a leadership opportunity at a major hospital that sees a high percentage of high-risk OB moms and neonates with medically complex comorbidities. This Hospital has earned frequent recognition and awards for patient care excellence and facility governance - including several consecutive Magnet Designations. 

Reporting to the Administrative Director of Women’s and Children’s Services, this Nursing Manager will lead clinical and administrative operations in a busy High-Risk Labor and Delivery Unit.  Supported by an amazing team of 4 Assistant Nurse Managers over Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, and Triage, this Nursing Manager will have all the tools they need to succeed. This management team will lead a department with nearly 100 employees. 

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Nursing Manager or Supervisor to lead a well-run department that feels like a family. The Labor and Delivery Unit has 8 Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR) rooms, as well as 12 Antepartum Rooms for high-risk patients that handle over 160 deliveries per month. Additionally, this department offers 8 rooms for overflow and complex procedures as well as two dedicated Obstetrics Operating Rooms. 

Responsibilities of this Women’s and Children’s Nursing Manager will include the implementation of programs to meet specific patient care needs and a focus on the continuous improvement of the quality of patient care and staff mentoring. Planning and management of the unit’s budget will also be within the scope of responsibility.
