Job description
Paradise Christian School is looking for a Toddler Teacher for an Early Headstart.
Requirements:
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Must have DCF Child Care Introductory training requirements.
- Minimum of a CDA.
- Must be able to pass level 2 background screening.
- Must have experience with teaching infants - toddlers.
- Preferable experience with Early Headstart.
- Must be able to dance, sit on the floor and carry young children.
- Knowledgeable with Creative Curriculum.
- Knowledgeable with Teachstone CLASS.
- This is a 12-month position.
Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering lessons designed to facilitate students' social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Encouraging self-expression through understanding, flexibility, and behavioral reinforcement.
- Tending to students' basic needs by feeding and dressing them.
- The mediating conflict between students.
- Modeling appropriate behaviors, even when not on duty.
- Ensuring that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning at all times.
- Liaising with families to gain insight into students' home lives.
- Tracking and informing parents of student's progress.
- Attending parent and staff meetings.
