Job description

FullTime Braillist Needed To Start ASAP

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for assisting the Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) with students who are blind or visually impaired including transcribing print materials into Braille interlining preparing tactile graphics to represent visual stimuli and pictures enlarging materials working with students oneonone and/or in small groups to reinforce academic and functional skills; and supporting students in classroom settings. Also responsible for accompanying students on field trips assisting students with orientation and mobility and daily living skills. Performs some office duties including ordering materials and keeping inventory for the vision department and individual students. May assist with translation and/or communication using second language skills when possible.

Requirements

• Current certification in Braille Competency in the state of Washington
  
• Applicant must have fingerprints on file with OSPI prior to starting
