Job description
Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for an Aviation Engineer to support Army Aviation’s Maintenance Airworthiness Engineering Division and the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD). This position is based inCorpus Christi, TX.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Perform repair engineering duties for military rotary wing and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and associated subsystems (e.g., rotors, blades, engines, drivetrain).
- Provide engineering support and coordination as necessary with other organizations in the development and/or substantiation of depot and field level maintenance policies and procedures, modifications, upgrades, repairs, technical data revision/improvement, field inspection, and new depot and field maintenance concepts.
- Conduct analysis on defects for new and existing aircraft for airworthiness in support of military aircraft systems.
Specific tasks will include the following:
- Support government engineers with expert advice, analysis, research, and technical guidance related to aviation maintenance engineering solutions for US Army rotary wing aircraft or unmanned aircraft systems.
- Inspecting and evaluating damaged components and providing disposition instructions including standard and non-standard repairs.
- On-site presence with customers is required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- BS or higher degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Rotary wing engineering experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in writing detailed technical substantiation analyses, reports, and briefings.
- Knowledge and experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, repair manuals, and technical reports.
- Must be a US citizen and have or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience performing structural analysis on rotating hardware.
- Experience performing analysis of advanced composite repairs.
- Experience with failure analysis of mechanical components and systems.
- Familiarity with aircraft transmission and drive systems.
- Experience with material properties.
- UH-60, AH-64, CH-47, UH-1N, or UAS systems experience.
- Military Aviation Depot, Intermediate, or Organizational Level maintenance repair experience.
- Active DoD Security Clearance.
- Previous military experience.
