Job Summary

Position responsible for assisting the Registered Nurse in providing medical and surgical care to patients in the Emergency Center or clinic setting.

*Full time; Monday-Thursday (7a-5p) ; Alternating Saturdays (7a-3:30p)
*24/7 call required (Alternates with other staff)

* CAOHE and NIOSH certification preferred (training with 6 months from start; paid by company)

*ER, Ambulance or Plant Site experience required: 3-5 Years *

We are seeking a dynamic full time Occupational Health Nurse/RN to become part of our team to serve our valued customer Plant site in

Pasadena, Tx.

The Occupational Health Nurse, RN is responsible for delivery of customer requirements, expectations, and services, which include:

· Clinical Care Services dealing with work-related and personal medical conditions

· Monitors work comp claims and processes

· Using nursing judgment and diagnosis skills assesses and treats non-work related and work related illnesses and injuries

· Performs new hire pre-employment exams and annual screenings

· Determines fitness for duty

· Emergency care for work-related injuries and illnesses

· Coordinate health promotion and disease prevention activities and strategies

· Counseling and health education

· Health Assessment and Medical Surveillance, and maintain medical records

· Respond to plant emergencies

General organizational skills within the clinic and process improvement/implementation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

· Current active license as a RN to practice in the state of Texas

· Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required

· Associate's degree required / Bachelor's degree preferred

· Strong Interpersonal Skills

· Critical thinking skills

Organizational skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:

· Certification in Occupational Health Nursing desirable

· 3 - 5 years’ experience in nursing with experience in ER, ICU, or Occupational Health

· Working knowledge of Workers Compensation, Short-Term Disability, and FMLA case management experience

· Knowledge and understanding of OSHA

Strong computer skills with basic troubleshooting knowledge, and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing required; Bachelors degree in nursing preferred

Licenses/Certifications: Current State of Texas license/permit to practice professional Nursing (RN); and Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification or within 30 days of hire
