Job description
Waferwire is looking for an experienced Engineer with a passion for automation, service resource management, and developing data systems to support our growing libraries and modern web applications. Someone that can think in systems, anticipate points of failure, data design-minded, consumer focused, able to provide clear and concise guidance, customer obsessed, and has experience working with front-end and full-stack engineers that have a wide range of experience levels.
Role: UI Engineer (Data Systems & Resources Engineer)

Typical Day in the Role:
- Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is The purpose of this team is to empower our organization's growth by efficiently managing Azure services and developing robust data systems that support our expanding libraries and modern web applications.
- Key projects: This role will contribute to the automation of systems, deployment of UI library packages, and optimization of services. Additionally, the engineer will collaborate with UI engineering partners to enhance our applications.
- Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of collaborating with UI engineering partners for system automation, deploying UI library packages, addressing support requests, resolving bugs, documenting development practices, reviewing peer work, and mentoring others in best practices. The operating rhythm involves planning, prioritizing, and delivering on various tasks in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with partners in UI engineering to automate our systems, deploy a number of UI library packages, and help build and optimize the services we own.
- Plan, prioritize, and collaborate on deliverables.
- Address partners support requests and resolve bugs.
- Document development and contribution requirements, practices, and processes.
- Review and provide feedback on the work of peers.
- Mentor others with best practices and help evolve developer experiences both internally and externally.
Top 3 Skills:
- Minimum 8 years experience with DevOps, Web Systems Engineering, and/or UI/Application Software Development: This is the primary requirement for the role, indicating a deep understanding and extensive experience in these areas.
- Experience with telemetry using Azure Insights (or similar): Given the emphasis on efficiently managing Azure services and developing data systems, experience with telemetry tools like Azure Insights is crucial for monitoring and optimizing system performance.
- Demonstrated expertise working with Github Actions or Azure DevOps Pipelines: Proficiency in these continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools is essential for automating system processes and ensuring efficient deployment of applications, aligning with the key projects and operating rhythm described for the role.
