About the Role & Program
Have you ever wondered what it takes to develop a show for different platforms? ABC Signature is a leader in the development, production and strategic distribution of entertainment content across television and emerging digital platforms! Our team is involved in developing and overseeing new and current drama and comedy shows for ABC, FX, Hulu, Disney+, Freeform, National Geographic, Onyx, Amazon, and Apple amongst other platforms. We are a key content provider for Disney platforms, having produced multiple hit series, "Grey’s Anatomy,” “Station 19,” “The Rookie,” “Criminal Minds: Evolution,” “Bad Sisters,” “A Small Light,” and “UnPrisoned.” This internship is an incredible opportunity for anyone who is looking to break into the television field!
If selected for this role, you will report directly to the Executive Assistant, Series.
What You Will Do
You will gain skills and knowledge in the development process of seeing an idea through to a pilot. You will also have the opportunity to learn how the executives manage our existing shows on a day to day basis. This is a phenomenal learning experience to gain insight into other departments such as Casting, Music, and Production.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assistant shadowing – learn the ins and outs of being an executive assistant
Script and Cut coverage/summarizing
Taking notes on creative notes calls
Logging and organizing submissions
Join meetings and contribute to creative conversations
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience with MS Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Strong interest in Television and the Entertainment Industry
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple projects at once
Knowledge and an awareness of ABC Signature Television shows
Preferred Qualifications
Previous internship experience within a related field
Education
Junior or Senior-level standing, or a recent graduate within 6 months of graduation date.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program
Additional Information
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through January 2025
Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm PT for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, California area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
