THE POSITION

We are seeking a professional full-time Accountant 1 to work in the classification, analysis, and reporting of financial data for the Area Agency on Aging. Find success and fulfillment with our team!
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
An Accountant 1 for the Cambria County Area Agency on Aging analyzes financial transactions and prepares documented financial statements, accounts for funds, analyzes financial data, and creates fiscal projections. This includes maintaining a general ledger, responding to yearly audit confirmations, maintaining the agency’s fixed asset inventory, processing accounts payable transactions, and maintaining separate tracking and fiscal records to monitor contracted providers. You will also audit and prepare all invoices for the agency and foster grandparents records as well as processes guardianship and rep payee consumer revenues and expenses. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting; or
- One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or
- Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
