The BH Link is searching for enthusiastic clinicians and counselors who are looking to make a positive impact in the Rhode Island community! The BH Link provides an innovative 24/7 alternative to the emergency room for adults around RI who are in need of behavioral health crisis assessment and referral services.
The role of the RN Team Lead is to screen, assess, administer medication, and medically monitor clients of the BH Link alongside the other registered nurses of the program. The RN Team Lead also supports the medical team through direct and group supervision, training and onboarding, coordination of the coverage schedule, and contributing to medical on-call coverage.
Roles and Responsibilities: - Provide supervision to a full team of full-time and part-time registered nurses.
- Engage RNs in orientation and ongoing training.
- Coordinate the 24/7 coverage schedule of the RN team for the BH Link.
- Provide medical/clinical on-call coverage to the program.
- Work alongside other registered nurses of the program to fulfill the following tasks:
- Engage in screening and risk assessment processes to identify appropriate levels of care and crisis interventions.
- Assess and monitor the psychiatric and medical needs of clients referred to the BH Link.
- Provide assessment and crisis intervention to clients experiencing behavioral health issues.
- Administer medication per standing and/or prescriber orders.
- Complete documentation per BH Link protocols.
- Coordinate admissions with referral sources and engage in nurse-to-nurse communications.
- Administer detoxification protocols, include the administration of CIWA and COW scales.
- Perform medication reconciliation reviews of medical record (MD order sheets match up with MAR).
- Coordinate service delivery with daytime and on-call psychiatric prescribers.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams both within and outside of the BH Link program.
- Ordering medications from local pharmacies per program protocols.
- Follow all PPE and COVID-19 safety guidelines.
- Secure and maintain QMHP credentials within the first quarter of employment (provided free of charge by CCA).
- Provide other administrative program support as needed/appropriate.

- Able to quickly and effectively develop positive rapport with clients and other professionals.
- Ability to assess medical and psychiatric needs of all clients admitted to the BH Link.
- Excellent clinical documentation skills.
- Able to apply learned verbal de-escalation techniques with clients in crisis.
- Works well in a team setting and communicates effectively with other professionals.
- Proactive and engaged when working with clients and co-workers.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in fast-paced environments.
- Multilingual professionals are encouraged to apply (and are reimbursed accordingly).
Experience and Education: - RN required.
- Current license to practice in Rhode Island.
- Experience and interest in serving clients with psychiatric and/or substance disorders.
- 3 years' experience working in a healthcare setting.
- Previous experience in supervisory role preferred.
- QMHP training provided/required within the first quarter of onboarding.
