Production Lead, End of Line
Position Summary Under direct supervision, the
Production Lead, EOL leads a team of End of Line Technicians that shake down Singer vehicles, ensuring repairs of issues found during test drives, diagnosis of rattles and squeak noises, building of three-piece wheels, mounting/balancing of tires, and the quality final assembly to meet company deadlines and standards for the installation of parts and components into Singer vehicles in a manner demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”
Essential Functions
- Leads a team of End of Line Assembly Technicians to ensure production demands meet the specified production schedule
- Creates daily work plans with Production Supervisor for each team member
- Monitors growth and development in all skillsets for new/lower grade technicians
- Provides feedback to Production Supervisor on performance and growth of each team member
- May provide technical leadership, lead teams on assignments, check quality and quality of work, troubleshoot assembly problems, and recommend solutions
- Trains new/lower grade technicians on processes and procedures
- Works with Production Supervisor to ensure production demands meets the specified production schedule
- Ensures workflow is tracked and on time through daily meetings
- Diagnoses of rattles and squeak noises and build issues
- Works daily tasks lists set out by Production Supervisor and Production Manager
- Reports daily vehicle build status to Production Supervisor and Production Manager
- Performs operational procedures according to required engineering specifications
- Reports any issues, delays, and all non-conformances in production line to Production Supervisor and ensure correction in a timely manner
- Completes assembly of Singer vehicles from bumper to bumper, drivetrain to interior
- Assembles components necessary for installation on vehicles
- Fits and finishes components onto vehicles
- Reports any material shortages and/or part defects to Production Supervisor and Production Manager
- Works in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrates the ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment
- Assists other team members as necessary
- Assists in special projects as required
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Test drives and final assembly of the vehicles while simultaneously diagnoses drivability issues
Qualifications: Required Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum six (6) years of related work experience in an automotive, restoration, manufacturing, and/or assembly environment
Preferred Education/Experience and/or Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or certification and/or technical automotive program graduate
- Three (3) to five (5) years technical training in the automotive/motorcycle industry
- Prior experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing
- Prior experience in rapid growth environment
- Prior experience or familiarity with Porsche vehicles (early models)?
- Experience with motorsport car set up

Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Must be able to comprehend work instructions
- Must be able to work and stand on concrete for extended periods
- Must be able to work in awkward positions and tight spaces
- Must be able to use fingers, hands, and arms and possess manual dexterity
- Must be able to safely reach and work in and around vehicles
- Must be able to work in a busy/fast paced automotive shop environment
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the production environment
- Must be able to start at an early schedule and work overtime when needed
- Must have ability to speak clearly and distinctly and hear and be heard and understood in person and by telephone
- Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move with up to 25 lbs. of force
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. regularly with occasional lifting of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to continuously perform repetitive tasks and possess manual dexterity
- Must maintain a valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record and appropriate insurance limits and/or be insurable under the Singer’s company vehicle insurance policy
