School Summary

All Saints Academy was founded in 1966 as St. Paul's Episcopal Parish School under Father Gilbertson and Father Sturrup of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church. The school did not adopt its current name until 1993, when the middle and upper school portions of the facility were added, extending the grades serviced to grade twelve.

Position Summary, Essential Duties, and Responsibilities

All Saints Academy seeks a compassionate, student-centered counselor to join a collaborative group of faculty and staff. The counselor should be confident and comfortable working individually as well as collaboratively with faculty, staff, and parents to support student needs. The ideal candidate should be warm, approachable, independent, a great listener, and eager to build positive relationships with students, families, and faculty. All Saints Academy’s school counselor is integral in providing support for social-emotional learning, managing the school’s advisory program, and coordinating strategies, preventative meetings, and programming that support the developmental needs of students. The candidate must be able to help students build positive social skills, gain confidence in their ability to interact with others, and learn ways to deal with problems and conflicts constructively. In addition, the candidate will support faculty, staff, and parents, concerning the academic and social-emotional concerns of their students. The school counselor actively advocates for students, helping create a safe and caring environment by identifying and addressing current student needs and concerns. Additionally, the school counselor proactively develops and initiates a well-being curriculum that supports students and faculty. While the majority of the counselor’s caseload will focus on the Middle and Upper Schools, the school counselor is responsible for providing short-term, solution-focused counseling services for K - 12th-grade students and families, as well as facilitating faculty training, group meetings, and parent education. The school counselor must be willing to be an active member of the life of the school, which will periodically include evening and weekend commitments. The school counselor must successfully manage student caseloads, social-emotional support for students, demonstrate strength in both written and oral communication and manage the school’s Advisory program. The school counselor is detail-oriented, flexible, creative, responsible, professional, and confidential.
