Job description
Job Summary
The Marketing Specialist serves as a generalist for the broader department’s brand marketing efforts, but will focus on trade, charters, and incentives.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Assist in project management and creative development for sales and marketing materials such as collateral, brochures, direct mail, advertisements, flyers, and emails for trade (B2B/B2C) and corporate meeting and incentive channels.
- Develop and communicate written creative briefs for use by outside agencies, freelancers, or in-house creative teams.
- Evaluate creative concepts, copy, and executions based on strategic alignment, brand standards and consumer impact.
- Help proofread and edit all sales marketing materials.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Trade Sales, Charters and Incentives, Hotel Operations, Marketing, and Reservations to ensure unique selling propositions (USPs) are incorporated into consumer-facing materials and communications.
- Manage ad hoc requests from sales & marketing team, as well as executive leadership team as required.
- Update and maintain strategic marketing plans as needed such as the Project Plan, Marketing communications calendar, and the monthly marketing recap.
- Update sales content, images and collateral on company website, all trade partner extranets and third-party marketing platforms.
- Conduct consistent competitive analysis and monitor industry trends.
- Track all marketing expenditures for monthly budgets and submit invoices for processing to Accounts Payable in a timely manner.
- Represent Crystal at trade events and conferences as needed.

Work Environment
Works in a typical office environment with quiet-to-moderate noise generated by computer printer, fax machine and light traffic. Traveling may be required.
Physical Demands
Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching. May require lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, the telephone, and other office equipment.
Expected Hours of Work
The position is fulltime and frequently requires working additional time outside of normal business hours.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field preferred
Experience: 2+ years of experience in marketing, advertising, or corporate communications, hospitality/travel experience a plus.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and/or InDesign.
- Strong copywriting, editing and proofreading skills.
- Firm understanding of digital and performance marketing strategies.
- Familiarity with marketing tactics and strategies for affluent markets.
- Strong understanding of brand management and executing projects to guidelines.
- Must be highly detailed-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude who works well cross-functionally.
- Resourceful, creative self-starter who takes initiative to learn processes and get things done with little supervision.
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment where strategic brand-building efforts are priority – start-up experience a plus.
