Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Software Quality Engineer to ensure software quality, continuous integration, and improvement for an exceptional customer experience. The Software Quality Engineer will be responsible for conducting or reviewing software and computer system Verification and Validation (V&V), test execution, system risk assessments, audit remediation, and documentation authoring in accordance with relevant US FDA regulations, Medical Device regulations in other markets, and international standards. Additionally, the Software Quality Engineer will focus on cybersecurity aspects, conducting risk assessments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments for medical devices to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze system architecture and design for security weaknesses.
- Review security test plans to evaluate the effectiveness of cybersecurity controls.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for cybersecurity in medical device development.
- Provide guidance on secure coding practices and contribute to the creation of Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
- Develop incident response plans for potential cybersecurity incidents related to medical devices.
- Participate in the investigation and resolution of cybersecurity incidents, providing technical expertise and analysis.
- Conduct audits and assessments to verify compliance with cybersecurity and quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to cybersecurity risk assessments, controls, and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, etc., are a plus).
- Proven experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on medical device security.
- Strong knowledge of medical device regulations and quality management systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 14971, ISO 27001, and IEC 60601.
- Experience with risk management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
